Sorry to be the bearer of sad news, but I have just been informed that Gordon Butler of M&D Cycles, Recorder and TT Secretary of the South Wales Veterans Time Trial Association was the victim of a hit and run accident and passed away yesterday near his home in Hereford.

Gordon and his wife Pam have been the backbone of the South Wales VTTA for many years and cliches such as "A perfect gentleman" do not go far enough when describing his character.

Gordon was 76 years of age and those time triallists amongst us will know him as a regular competitor on the South Wales time trial scene who has continually recorded exceptional times over the years.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Pam and her family at this sad time. When I get information regarding funeral arrangements I will host.

Desperately sad news. Gordon was a first-class gentleman and someone who really loved the South Wales time-trialling scene. He was a pretty amazing athlete who recorded some very impressive 'plusses' on vet/std.

Sad news indeed, did,nt know the gentleman very well, my condolances and sympathy to his family, brings it home to me how lucky i was after my accident, take care out there boys and girls.
