Hi Guys
We are looking to hire the Priory on Water street on Saturday 28th July to watch the Olympic Road Race with a meal and a few drinks.
Our initial thoughts are that we get there for around 12:00 to 12:30 and stay there for the afternoon, maybe book a meal or whatever.
Can you let me know if this would be of interest and if you'd like to attend.
Les

I would rather go to London like we did a few years ago for the Tour.

Les, are we talking 'boys afternoon out' or partners included? _______________ "The most important thing in life is not to have the most, but to need the least.” Plato (my favourite Disney character).

Well!
Think it might be time to venture beyond Tenby's sunnier climate to meet up with everyone.
Does the 9.30am still go out. Might as well have a kicking if I'm coming home.

Yeah, I am up for soaking up the ambience and hopefully having good reason to celebrate later in the afternoon. Just a few questions;
what draught lager does the priory have?
how big is the tv?
will they be pissed off if we make too much noise?
What time are we meeting?
Up for a ride before if anyone fancy's an early start.

Hi Guys
Just spoken to CJ - The day is on
For those faster, stronger, harder riders that want to start the day with a bit of pain, there will be the "Limpic Legends" ride leaving the Plaza at 9:30. This ride will end at the Priory...... Bring Plenty of deodorant.
For those more civilized amongst us there will be the Olympic Ringers Ride leaving at 10:30 Once again If you want this could also end at the Priory.
As for the size of the TV I don't know but glasses are available at the bar.......
Lager - I don't know but CJ does some winter training and Carb loading here so it can't be that bad......
Make as much noise as you please............ I used to play golf at Lakeside, we won't be as noisy as Woot, Rav and their boys
Turn up any time but I think CJ has in mind anytime between 12:30 and 2:30 depending on how much "Ambience" you wish to consume....

Well, there we were, all 6 of us to watch the mens road race at the priory on Saturday. I wouldn't mind, but we had to eat 25 pre booked meals!
What happened people? I thought with the club organising and paying for most of the get together, there would be a decent turnout. Martin even came up from Tenby to see the lads and support the club.
Disappointing turnout, and a disappointing road race result!!! _______________ Born to ride (Unless it's raining )

We were gutted not to make it kev, but I had to work overtime on Sat to get all the lucky people that were off work safely to London to watch the race live.
As you can imagine passenger numbers travelling to and from London by train has gone a little crazy to say the least! _______________ Carpe Diem.

See what you mean. We tried to get on a train in Paddington last night at 20:15, with the buggy, and failed! Cue undignified dash from platform 9 to platform 5 where we boarded the 20:20, but only by dint of sitting in First Class, and this train only got us as far as Reading. There we missed our connection to Radley, so we finally got home at quarter to two.
The Olympics were good though. Sadly we didn't see Bradley Wiggins. Not sure that would have been a good idea with a 2 year old. Therefore we watched the Women's 69kg Weightlifting instead. _______________ Electric bikes are great. They give ordinary people the chance to know what it feels like to be me.

Aye Kev, bet you enjoyed all the extra grub though. But shame about the poor turn out. I dont come on here all that often not being paid up member this year. I need a bike. Trying to keep up with Little John on a hybrid isnt much fun although John enjoys seeing me suffer lol. Hope everyone is ok though. I do actually miss the banter on the club rides
