So were the handicaps sufficient to compensate for the wind and rain?

Well AN EXTREMELY depleated squadra chrono set off today. Stuart decided to stay tucked up in bed and looked down on Swansea Bay from above the clouds........ Skippy had a puncture (about a mile from the HQ ...... Convenient that .... So did he let his tyre down himself I hear you say? it was a wise move if he had).
Me on the other hand was to stupid to think about feining a puncture and decided to keep going...... Talk about 4 seasons in one day....... The event started under blue skies. When I started (No 22) it started to rain. By the time I got to Llagadog (3miles), it was sunny and by the time I went through Llandovery (10 miles) there were hailstones trying to rip your face off.... Lap two more of the same with some extra cold wind for good measure....... I did an aweful 1:21:38 but still "YOU GOT TO BE IN IT TO WIN IT" so I retain the club 30 Handicap Cup. The amazing thing was Kieron Davies of Bynea CC won the event in an incredible 1:03:38 beating everyon else by at least 7 minutes. For info the previous course record holder was John Pritchard with a 1:7:08 so anyone who takes 3:40 off that is pretty impressive... |
