For a few years now we've held this event one week before our Open 25-mile 2-up team time-trial and it's purpose is simply to give our 2-up teams 10-miles of practice and an opportunity to cough up a lung (or two, or four).

Could our 2-up teams check in on this thread just to get a bit of banter and anticipation going please.

I'm on the watch (note to self - take a watch) but I would welcome a couple of strong boys to help push off.

Could we have a list of events for the year, in our usual fashion? Club events and Open Events. Then we might be able to work out how they fit into the Celtic Series as well.

I'm up for riding the 2UPs as well, if anyone fancies an outing. I've never managed to enter the 2UP yet, so it's time to give it a go.

List now added but I've only put in the two PTW 'Open' events (one is a road race) that occur on a Thursday.

Hi Bill
If you call down the club one friday and pick up your club handbook you'll find all the open TT'S are listed in there.

Failing that can you link to the following web site.

So the teams for the 2 up I know of are

Hefin and Tank ......................That could be quite quick
Bill and Fixie............................Now there's a strong Pairing
Mark Hillier and Andy Lewis.....Evenly balanced this team
Mike Hall and Jez Jones...........The Porthcawl Pairing
Skippy and Dai Triggs..............Skippy could be in for a shock.... Thats all I'm saying..... ;)
CJ and Dai Smith................................ Back from the dark side..... About time :P
Spot and Me............................not evenly balanced, One strong man and its gonna get messy (PS I'm seeing a psychiatrist shortly after).

Can't wait for the trials on Saturday the 4th.....

By the way Who's up for marshalling and pushing off on the main event on Sunday 11th March. So Far I've only heard of Colin Speakman though I'm sure there must be others So Volunteers please:

We need people at

Resolven Roundabout:
Roundabout 1 Aberdulais
Roundabout 2 Aberdulais exit slip - Colin Speakman
Roundabout 2 Aberdulais old road
Blaengwrach Roundabout
Resolven Junction
Ynysgerwyn Turn

Take your pick

Apologies if this is a bit presumptuous but I assume Alf is manning the results board.

Also in the absence of Chips we need someone to put out the arrows, Any volunteers for this

Yes. I'm OK for the results board and Mandy should be OK for helping with the teas.

I did text Will to let him know but didn't get a reply (which probably means the old fart doesn't do text).

Will has been asking around for volunteers, and I put my name down to help a couple of weeks ago. I haven't been given a job yet, but thought I would be allocated one on the day.
Does the psychiatrist know you're a cyclist?

Message for Mike Hall - I have sent you a PM earlier, but in case you look here first and to prewarn organiser and substitute (if permitted).
Due to unforeseen circumstances, I will not be able to make the practice run and probably not the real thing. So if a sub is available and acceptable to organiser, please start without me.
Big apology and hope you have a good ride.

Sorry Fixie, but I'm feeling oddly feverish today. No temp as such, but very weak. Certainly not in time-trialling sort of form. Hope you don't have wasted trip.

A windy day and colder than of late (snow on the beacons) but that didn't deter 12 brave souls from opening up their tubes. Here's how they got on;

1. Rod Hicks - PTW 23:47

2. Curtis Stacey - PTW 24:39

3. Anthony Cowdrey & Mark Williams - L'escargot 24:40

6. Chris Allen - PTW 27:32

7. Gary Gregory & Dai Triggs - PTW 31:57

Hi Bill, I thought you'd pulled out of Sunday's TT mate because you were unwell?
I haven't entered it now based on that.
I'm pretty certain that I read somewhere on here that somebody else has pulled out and is/was looking for a team mate?
Sorry if I got this all arse backwards mate!
Cheers

I pulled out of the 10 mile TT last Sunday. I'm better now. Sorry, I had no idea my post could be read both ways.
