Leaving Plaza 10am. Head to Neath, Crynant, Seven Sisters and stop at Madam Patti's for tea. Return home down the Swansea Valley.

A hearty Crew left for Madam Patti's today, Spot Selwyn, Myself, Mark Hillier, Double J, Mike Hall, Nigel Pitt, Charles, Mark Hillier, Griff, Dai Triggs and JD, fresh from his exploits on the dark side. Mark Hillier and Spot hit the front from the Plaza but they were quickly overtaken (and slowed down) by myself and JD. So with JD and me on the Front, and Selwyn bringing up the rear, A traditional club run pace ensued.

Through Neath and Neath abbey there were cries of Puncture and we all waited only for Dai Triggs and Jez Jones (who was supposed to have punctured) to attack of the front. All the way to Coelbren the two canny fellas led the club run and watching every move.... No one could get by..... Dai Triggs releived of "Super Domestique" duties sneakily took the Crynant Prime but Jez hung on to take the Seven Sisters Prime. Fate didn't seem to like the new joint leader in the Points race and a Puncture was his prize.

At times of punctures, Experience takes over and Selwyn and Spot helped Jez .......................... so me and JD said we'd help Dai Triggs and rode off with Dai saying if they had not caught us we'd meet them at the top of the climb just after Henydd Falls So of we went.

A gentlemanly pace was set until JD took the Coelbren Prime....... while I wasn't looking....... But Soon I had the opportunity to get one back and took Quadrouple points by taking taking the Powys County Prime.......... JD was a close second and Dai Triggs third.

JD and I agreed that the gentlemanly thing was that he should take the KOM prize at the Henydd falls as......... hes been practicing hill climbs on the dark side.

Griff and Selwyn were next up the climb apparently having taken a short cut quickly followed by Spot and Co who went the scenic route.

One final note, later in the day, Spot tried to claim the Powys prime after leading the boys up through Coelbren and Onllwyn at 22MPH....... But I quickly pointed out boys all the effort was in vain.......You were 4th.........

All in all a great day, great banter. nice coffee and cakes in the cafe at Craig y nos and a gentle ride back down the valley. What can be better than that

Green Jersey Me
KOM JD

Then I woke up and went out on the club run...... ;)

Great write up again Les, although no mention of the all important Porthcawl prime. Now, some may say that there were only 3 of us and only 2 of us went for it. I'm not one of those people and a wins a win!

Another good write up Les. I see we now have two Mark Hilliers going out on the club run, that could be confusing if they both went for the KOM. You could call one Mark 'Little' Hillier and the other Mark ' Huge, big, long, steep and a sod to climb' Hillier, or did you just put his name down twice!
