Well we had a good turn out on the BBCR today with, Mike Hall, Jeremy Isaac and myself Joined by Steffan and Callum from Onit Sports making up the Porthcawl Chapter. Selwyn, Nigel Pitt, Mark Hillier, Griff, Pip, Spot and young Mcauley Ley making up for a fair group heading west. Bevan Hulse turned up for ramblers ride and took one look at the BBCR and said...... OH OH! you lot look a bit fit........ Discretion is the better part of valour I'm heading east.

Selwyn began the day on a high having two punctures before he got to the Plaza but unperturbed he was up for a good day in the saddle. Off we went at a reasonable pace, nothing too strenuous to start but at Birchgrove, Pip said he was not feeling well and turned for home. First climb of the day was Morriston and it soon became clear that the climbers of the day were the Porthcawl chapter........ minus me.............. and off Jeremy, Steffan, Mike, Callum Nigel Pitt and McCauley went. ( I hate light people I've decided) followed by Spot, Selwyn Mark and Myself. Last one up was Griff but that is understandable as the highest thing he "LIKES" climbing is the bank on Newport Track.......

We meandered through Gorseinon and eventually got on the Penclawdd Road at which time Spot got into Low Level two rythm and it all got a bit quiet in the Pack. Around North Gower, Spot went and won a few Village sprint Primes....... First to have a go at him was Mark Hillier FAILED......... Mark Tried to surprise him at the next............ FAILED. I had a go FAILED............ and then we got to Park Mill and McCauley punctured.

At this time Steffan, Callum and Jeremy said they would head home as Steffan needed to be home at around one..mmmmm 12:30 at Park Mill, Supposed to be home by one... Roughly Translates as "Dog House"" ..... Griff used the opportunity to get a head start on the climb and decided to climb out of Park mill at his own pace and gently rolled to the top and rested. When Selwyn and Spot had fixed McCauleys Puncture and were starting to pump up the Tyre, Mark Myself and Mike Hall decided we'd ride up the hill at our own pace leaving the Selwyn Spot, Nigel and McCauley to fly up at their pace.

We all reconvened at the top of the climb and were quietly heading towards Bishopston when BOOM! Griff took a flyer gaining the Bishopston Prime and hurling abuse at me and Mark and saying things like THATS THE WAY TO DO IT>>>>>>>. Unfortunately this only made Spot mad and a further Level two kicking commenced....... Ouch!

Off to Mumbles Cafe we headed only for Selwyn to gain a sneaky prime at Murton having told everyone to Ease because Griff and McCauley were suffering...... (Entered in a few Black Books)

Nice tea and cakes at the cafe in Mumbles was what the Doctor ordered and a nice ride home. Only to have Andy Lewis and wife to race us between the various lights along Oystermouth Road. Personally I think the use of a Ford Fiesta is cheating but hey....... Anyway A good Sunday Club Run was had by all and Chapeux to McCauley for a strong ride today. For me it totalled 77 miles door to door... Neat

Thanks for the excellent write up Les. It's like being on the club run, but without all the pain. Sounded like a good'un, and no mention of any ice encountered. Hope Bev had a good ride as well.

Probably up for some debate, but who ended up in the green jumper and KOM?
Would have been another from Porthcawl, but in usual fashion was running late, passed Bev by Taibach and Jeff G by Neath.
