Looking at bike for junior who is around 5, 9 ish and seen an eddy merchx 54 cm sloping geometry, guess if was standard geometry it would be ok, but not sure if sloping would be a suitable fit. Any advice welcome. Thanks

Hi Mate
Be carefull on the frame size as I'm 5'9" and find a 54cm a bit of a stretch. Obviously If he's young and your looking for him to have a bike to grow into it then it will probably be fine but if your looking for a comfy ride I find a 52 better. Also overall height is one thing but limbs to body ratio a big factor in what is comfortable. Personally I'd never buy a bike I hadn't had chance to sit on or at least the exact same spec.

Hope this helps

Les, cheers for the advice.
Is yours sloping or traditional geometry?
Lad is only growing outwards now, hence looking for bike for general fitness work and get trimmer.
Had him sitting on my 51 traditional bike earlier and that looked ok for leg reach, but looked a bit small up top, so I guess our proportions are different.
