The New years day 10 is creeping up on us. The usual is to leave the plaza at 10am, ride to the event, complete the course and finish off in the Farmers for a spot of lunch. I'm not sure if the Farmers is still available so I'm just testing the water to see if anyone is interested to dine there before I give them a ring.

Please respond if you can
Cheers

Mr Captain, I hope to make it Sunday as need to get my fat a** off the sofa. Not bothered too much about food as eaten enough during last week to last all of January.

Just to confirm that I'm timekeeping but will need to get away a bit sharpish as we're having the 'Fockers' round to lunch.

Don't know about bowling around, but I nearly blew a gasket into that headwind. I was crawling along in places, winching it out in low gear. I caught and passed the 2UP in no time, who to be fair couldn't possibly have known what gear was needed for those conditions. Then we all flew back. That was definitely windier than any TT last year, and I was there for the 25. Congrats to all who attended on the emptiest roads I've seen as well :D

Quite pleased with my 29.30, a seasons best and therefore a lifetime best! and a good place to start.

lessons learned:
1) Know where you're going, it helps.
2) Don't get in an arm wrestle with the wind, you will lose
3) How about giving an aero position a go.

Still I had a go and hopefully the only way is up!

My first TT was in about 1992, at Uni. The winner set a 22 on a gentle but rolling course. I did a 35 on my student bike, and I simply couldn't even believe a 22 was feasible. Progress can be slow, but it is fun and highly motivating. Don't set your PBs all at once. You have to leave a target for next year :)
