Spot, Mark Hillier, Myself, Selwyn (the teflon Don) Bowen, Alex Pearson and two of our newest Porthcawl Chapter members, Richard and Jeremy, set off for a gentle recovery ride to mumbles. Spot led us out having feeling a little weak after his winter training session with CJ and Team Chiraz.
After several cries of " Oooh My Head hurts"
, half way along Jersey Marine, Selwyn went to the front to give Spot a break and lift the pace a bit. As Selwyn scented the Coffee the pace went up but more and it was nice to see that both Richard and Jeremy were comfortable at the quicker pace, so we shortly settled in the cafe and ordered an array of coffee and cakes.
No one mentioned Mayhills, Bishopston or Caswell so we were obviously not feeling well enough....Just as we were about to leave, and apparently as a matter of urgency, Spot decided he needed to answer the call of nature...... Off he Dashed only to return red faced
as it was clear the extractor fans could not cope and people would have difficulty in getting through the door to the gents without breathing apparatus for some time to come. After having rid himself of some unwanted materials, normal service was resumed and Spot led us home rejuvinated.
We took the cycle path route back to round off a comfortable day in the saddle. Point of interest, a big chapeaux to Jeremy who took Spot on in a half wheeling competition up the hill out of Baglan, leaving me and Richard struggling in their wake.
Unfortunately I had left my car in Cwmavon Last night so could not ride back to Porthcawl with Richard, Jeremy and Alex, but a big thumbs up to Richard who was clearly struggling by the time they got to the dunes after water street but still refused my offer of a tow up the hill to the Angel.....
See ya next week

, just glad there was an easterly breeze dispersing the odors to Gower and beyond.
