To accomodate the young, and or nervous newcomers to the club ( women and children welcome )
Starting on October 2nd, Leaving from the Plaza at 10.ooam, Kevin Jones and myself will be taking a nice, easy relaxed ride towards ( and depending on exhaustion ) and as far as Mumbles - and back.
All you need is a bike that works, a spare inner tube and pump ( don't worry if you have a puncture - we have our own mobile tyre changers !!! )
Be aware that while Kevin and I are club members willing to encourage your enjoyment of cycling, as per club rules, It is YOUR OWN responsibility to ride safely and lawfully _______________ Supporting the club that supports you

Looks like we picked a perfect weekend to enjoy the ride. For those who haven't seen it, the Weather forecast is more of the same as today
And it seems we'll be joined by a couple of old f**ts who'll entertain us all the way and will do the pushing if anyone is too tired to peddle .
See you at the Plaza 10 o'clock Sunday _______________ Supporting the club that supports you

well it was nice and easy and relaxed ... and I WAS exhausted !!!
Lovely to see so many at the Plaza .... even nicer to see so many new faces - and OLD !
Anyway, once the main ride had departed eastwards ( where did they go ? ) we headed over the railway line to pick up the cycle path ( sustrans 4 apparently ) at the end of Corporation road. Then all the way to Blackpill Lido.
Welcome to JACK ( who at fourteen reminded me of Dan Pearson's first ride with us - is that good or bad for the future? !!) ABBY and KAREM from Cadoxton ( these ladies had no connection with the club but had read this posting and decided to join us ) RUTH from Porthcawl, and BEVAN from Port Talbot who was finally enjoying his first ride with us as a Port Talbot Wheeler !!!
With the ride well marshalled by Skippy and a certain member who has been absent for too long joining us at Baglan we had a lovely ride finally stopping at Blackpill Lido. and returning to the Plaza by 1.30
Hope you all enjoyed the ride and maybe next time you could be more adventurous and head on the roads eastwards.
Thanks and well done Kevin. _______________ Supporting the club that supports you

Well, that was a bit different, but very enjoyable. Well done to young Jack who couldn't quite make it back to the Plaza, and well done to Skippy for staying with him until he was picked up by his mother at Briton Ferry bridge. The standard of safety was high, with everyone being friendly and courteous with other bike path and road users. Everyone said they had enjoyed themselves, which, with the safety aspect, was our main aim. We had a good finish with me leading the train at a brisk but manageable pace from Baglan roundabout back to the Plaza. Looking forward to next Sunday and it looks like we will probably be going East. More details to follow later on in the week. Thanks all for turning up, and a good write up Anthony. _______________ Born to ride (Unless it's raining )

The 'Rambler' or the slower club run will be leaving the Plaza at the usual time of 10 o'clock on Sunday. We will either go to Blackmill or Porthcawl (Via a few lanes), depending on who turns up and weather conditions. There will be more hills to climb than last week, but I promise nobody will be left behind! All are welcome. _______________ Born to ride (Unless it's raining )

Today's 'Ramblers' ride --- Well, that's my reputation in tatters, I can't remember the last time I started a ride in the rain!
Skippy, Kev Rattenbury, Willy, Dai Triggs, me, Kara and Abbey (That's the correct way to spell their names Anthony!) left the Plaza at 10 o'clock. The weather was quite windy with light drizzle, interrupted by heavy drizzle! Our happy bunch headed east to Pyle cross and picked up JD and Jez (Who was late for the main club ride). Due to the inclement weather, we decided to make our way to Porthcawl, going past the Angel pub and entering the town via the lanes. JD and Jez left us as we went to the cafe in rest bay. The way home was into a stiff headwind (I just hid at the back), and we got back to the Plaza at about quarter to one, wet but happy.
Considering the weather it was a good turnout, and well done to Kara and Abbey for turning out again. By the way girls, you totally blanked me when I waved at you on the M4 and the Neath valley dual carriageway, until we parted at the Neath Abbey turn off. Yep, I was the idiot in the silver windowed van.
Hope the weather is better for next Sunday! _______________ Born to ride (Unless it's raining )

This Sunday (16/10/11) the 'Ramblers' ride will leave the Plaza at the normal time of 10 o'clock and head East. Depending on who turns out, the ride will either go to Blackmill cafe or Ewenny cafe. There will be more climbing this Sunday than last, but everyone that finds it a bit tough will be looked after.
Any more jokes as bad as the 'Indian Tat' one, and you will be banned from the rambler ride Kev until your material improves!

Sorry but I can't make this Sunday's rambler ride as I have tweaked my lower back. Been out on the bike today, but it is very sore and I need to rest it. Hope you have a good ride. _______________ Born to ride (Unless it's raining )
