Off Number 27 I was first out of the blocks closely followed by Sweep off number 30.
A strong headwind made the outward leg a real slog and I stopped the clock in 1:00:38. Fortunately Sweep didn't catch me but he recorded a very strong 58:25.
John Stroud was next out of the blocks and the super septegenarian recorded a very creditable 1:05:13.
The rapidly imroving John Littlewood was next up and must have been very pleased with his 1:01:08.
But taking home some of the vets Money this week Stuart Evans was the fastest club rider with a 57:49
The competition was won by Stu Dodd who broke the course record recording the astonishing time of 48:46
