While Selwyn and I were riding back into Margam today, we saw an ambulance and a couple of police cars blocking the road off at the roundabout at the end of the dual (By the slip road going West back up to the M4). We saw two cyclists, one with a PTW top, and a few bikes (Don't know how many) lying on the grass. There was also a car parked up with the driver sitting in it, just as you leave the roundabout to go onto the dual heading East. We didn't stop as the police would have probably moved us on. We hope to God that nobody was injured badly.

Hi Guys
Just a quick update As Stuart has mentioned, Rhys Loyd has been involved in a collision with a car at Margam and has suffered facial cuts and bruises that as resulted in stitches over his eye. Info to date suggests that he has not broken any bones and whilst he is battered and bruised, he is walking wounded and has been allowed home tonight. Whilst we are all concerned over his well being and I'm sure Dave will keep us updated as to his recuperation, In order not to jeopardise any future legal action, can I ask that you do not discuss the circumstances of the collision on this or any other web site. Many thanks and get well Soon Rhys |

Firstly thanks for all your well wishes, phone calls and facebook messages.
The good news Rhys is home and we dont think anything is broken although there may be more x rays in the next week. He does however have a seroius head injury with 14 stitches lots of swelling and as good a shinner to the left eye that I have ever seen. His body is battered and bruised from head to toe and he is very drowsey. Thanks, to James ( rhyss team mate who has come to stay for couple of months from Gurnsey) and young Dan for their help at scene today. Little John who appeared from somewhere- rhys says he remembers you holding him and talking to him when came round, cheers mate. James Lewis for rushing to the scene and also lending his assistance. As for the cicumstances I cant seem to get it in my head what went on today but it will all come out soon enough. Finnally you will see this lad James Mclaughlin around our roads over the next 8 to 10 weeks please give a PTW welcome as i know you will. Thanks Dave, Lynette & Alys _______________ sleep is for the weak |

Get well soon Rhys and, for the moment, let's take comfort in the fact that it could have been worse.
Dai - I hope you're OK for timing tonight. Mandy's dad is in hospital at the moment and we're visiting every night so I can't offer to stand-in for you. _______________ "The most important thing in life is not to have the most, but to need the least.” Plato (my favourite Disney character). |

Hi Anthony, as you say, '' long time no see'', or speak for that matter. I took some flack whilst out with the club yesterday (didn't expect any better from them). Little John reckon, the decals on my bike should have said Pickfords, not Argos. It's pies that have been my problem, not relish. I had 'em coming down off the top o'stormy, a couple of peddle strokes and gravity done the rest, I was slightly miffed at the cafe, when Griff said, '' you ain't lost it on the downhill, big fella, we were sat on your wheel all the way, three abreast''. Anyway, nice to here from you and hope to see you soon.
