In the absence of Davey Disco Ball Crowley I thought I'd pen a few words for the Squadra this week. 8)

In the 4th cat race yours truly put his wheel on the start line of a crit for the first time in about 32 years and the memories came flooding back , Sprint, rest, sprint, rest, sprint, sprint, sprint, POP!......... now where did I leave that lung.... :x

Managed to last about half an hour before my bungy strap broke.............. leaving Wayne Reyneke to finish in the bunch in about 13th Place..... see how long I last next week me thinks and hopefully Wayne can get into the top 10......

In the main event, the squadra looked like a force to be reckoned with Tank, Hefin, Mark and Curtis in attendance, the breaks went thick and fast and it seemed that there was a a red jersey (nearly always Hefin) in every single one. 8)

One break looked very promising for a while with both Tank and Hefin to the fore but Forza and Jif did a really big pull and soon it was together again. Curtis and mark also featured in some promising breaks but the peloton was not going to make the same mistake as last week and no break was allowed to get too far. ;)

With 5 laps to go Hefin took a flier and it seemed he was going to get away with a solo win. Dangling tantalisingly off the front, 5 seconds advantage, 8 seconds, 10 seconds. With two laps to go he had an 11 second lead but with one lap to go it was down to 8 seconds.

On the last lap two Jif riders and a Forza rider began the lead out from the start of the back straight, they ripped into Hefin's 8 second lead but in doing so put together a perfect lead out train for Tank.

Hefin was caught with about 200m to go At which time Tank went into overdrive and hit the front to take the win by half a wheel.

All in all a good days outing and if there was an award for the most agressive rider......... Hefin would have won hands down....
