hi gang, just a few lines to let you know, my high tibial osteotomy (or leg break to you & me) went ahead as planned on dec24. yes believe it or not they dragged me kicking & screaming to hospital x-mass eve. spent most of x-mass day in hospital but managed to do a runner just before lunchtime so was home in time for my din-dins & queens speach. hobbling around on crutches for the next 8weeks is going to be tough but i'll get there. physio starts next week so all being well should be back on the bike by begining of march. thanxs to those who i've spoken to wishing me well, special thanxs to big kev my trusty domestique for keeping me supplied with mags & generally cheering me up. so a belated happy new year to you all, see you all soon. xx

Be warned Andy, your trusty domestique was seen secret training on New years day and he made no secret of the fun he's going to have kicking s**t out of you on your return
No, he was very good and showed great concern for you.

Hope you make a speedy and not too painful recovery. happy new year

hi alf, accoding to my surgeon it is due to osteoathritus. i personally think it due to drinking out of wet glasses & trying to keep up with those young wippersnappers out on a sat lol.

Just a quick update on my team leader he is well on the mend and started physio this week but is really bored having just to sit there unable to put any weight on his leg. Now chips must have been reading my mind about giving Andy a kicking on his return, when I have visted him at home in his weakened state I have had flasbacks on the kickings he gave me around Gower when I first started cycling all the years ago, on his return to the bike I will have my payback time can't wait, only joking mate it's good to see you keeping you spirits up and you are always up beat when I call up to see you and I am sure that you will listen to the doctors this time and dont get back on the bike before they say, it's lonely going around Gower on my own but you'll soon be back and we can then batter each other as we usually do See you later in the week
