Early starters were returning with dissapointment in their hearts for what was turning out to be a slow day. It didn't seem to be windy but rider after rider returned to report a slow day and how tough the return leg was. Undeterred, however our intrepid riders set off in the hope of good things.
First out of the Blocks was Dai Triggs and I'm not sure but I think he recorded yet another personal best with a 25:28.
Next out of the Blocks came the big man himself John Stroud followed 3 minutes later by the incredible Sweep. Would Hugh catch John, what a battle was in store, would this spur the men on to great things.
Off John Went, quickly up to speed and returned in 24:57. Sweep on the other hand whilst gaining with every pedal stroke fell just short of the catch but recorded another excellent ride returning in 22:33.
Next Off Was Gambo, and as expected he turned out a superb 21:33 whilst I (looking for some late season good form) recorded a respectable 23:37
