I am afraid the news does not look good for the Club T/T on the R25/3L this Thursday.Roadworks are responsible for this ,with the dreaded Cones coming out once again.
Merthyrs 25 on Wednesday is also being affected.
Not sure whether to have a "10" on the R10/23,or a 25 on R25/24?
Your views would be appreciated.
regards

Where will the cones be ? Apart from the stretch from McDonalds roundabout to Resolven, the R25/24 uses the same roads as the R25/3.

What about an approx 15 miler ? Starting at the access road near to McDonalds ( that would have been access to the enterprise park just after the bridge over the river, ) turn left down the back road, turn at Ynysygerwyn cricket club, and finish at the 15 finish.
You would then not have to use the Dual carriageway at all.

For Info,

I have sent the number for steve williams of SWTRA to both chips and Dave LLoyd. But after talking to Mark Andrews of Merthyr the new set of cones is from the bridge on the bottom end of the Glynneath bank to the Mcdonalds Roundabout. Hopefully, this should not affect the 50 or the 25/24 but obviously this will need to be checked.

As for preference as to which course we ride, I'm a fat boy I would prefer the 10 on the dual if that is available. If not we still need a recognised distance on a recognised course to make sure the relative risk assessments are in place. Also the change will need to be notified to the Police.

Got the number thanks Les. I'll try phoning him tomorrow and will keep you posted.

The police were marvellous (in an almost totally passive way!) when we had a problem recently so could someone just confirm where the roadworks are and whether they'll still be there on Thursday.

(Peter - leave the revised police forms to me)

Spoken to the highways authority this morning - looks like the cones will be out for a couple of weeks -bottom of the bank to half way to Resolven.

Hmm, ifwe use the R25/24 for the 4-up, it'll be interesting to watch how the teams stay together up the rock :P :P :P

Checked the Dual Carriageway(A465),at the moment the Cones are as Chips mentions at the bottom of the Bank, they continue for about 500 yards, opposite the the filtering off lane on the other side of the road that takes you to the finish of the R25/3L.
The R10/22a looks the best course for this Thursday(June10th),have asked Alf to sort the Police form for the course.
Chips the 50 Mile T/T course is ok,not a cone in sight, the backroad has had most of the pot holes filled too.
