Is on the back road - aka the marmite course
@ Dai Lloyd - I'll get over there for 18.30hrs with the numbers and paperwork. I'll leave the signing on to you whilst I work out where the start and finish are
I've got a course description so it shouldn't be a problem but we'll need to adjust the finish to help prevent problems. _______________ "The most important thing in life is not to have the most, but to need the least.” Plato (my favourite Disney character).

The finish of the R10/23 isn't a problem - it finishes just as the road starts to widen into a filter lane to turn into Rheola market.
The start on the other hand, is at pentreclwddau ( where we have had a few problems with the residents ) - directly opposite the old finish to the R25/23 ( the residents have now placed a few large rocks there ) _______________ Supporting the club that supports you

Thanks Anthony, I think I got confused by being told something about Tudor's 'checkerboard' being thrown over a hedge (or kicked over or something like that).
So, perhaps, we need to move the start 200m down towards Resolven and the finish 200m up towards Glynneath. _______________ "The most important thing in life is not to have the most, but to need the least.” Plato (my favourite Disney character).

Hi Alf,
Just a thought, would a better solution be to move the start the short distance to the burger van layby. This would mean moving the finish nearer resolven but will probably mean we still have a footpath and parking facility for safe timekeeping. The straight adjacent to the lake has neither.....

Ironically, while I don't like the idea of anarchic residents getting their way, because it is on the apex of a bend and with no footpath, the start of the R10/23 is probably the most dangerous of the neath valley starts !
Starting at the burger van is a great idea except that the 300 or so yards before the finish might be even more dangerous
How about moving the start forward 100 yards to the bus stop, and then the finish might still be close to the exit slip out from Rheola market with plenty of room for timekeepers vehicles ... or could those otherwise be parked safely on the other side of the road ? _______________ Supporting the club that supports you
