For all those who didn't ride today and there were many..................You may have made a Good Choice ;) Cos in case you hadn't guessed, you missed a Leg Numbing last 9 miles that made most mortals want to get off........... :'(

Let me explain, this is the info taken off the Garmin............. wind assisted first 5 mile split (half way down the bank). 10:52, Next 5 mile split........ Down the rmaining half of the bank and on to Resolven..........9:09 (yep its not a miss print) ........ 3rd five mile split to the turn 10:19 average speed at 15 miles 29.67MPH... Happy days 8)

Turn back into the wind and.............. next 5 mile split 14:00 OUCH! last 5 mile split 15:34... TRIPLE OUCH! I couldn't break evens :evil: Going past the ponds was like riding through Treacle, Legs busting, heart pounding, Dizzy on the approach to the Macdonalds roundabout....... FFS this hurts.... Nobody else in the world can feel this bad........ I'm Dying........ so why hasn't anyone caught me?

Results for the day

Hugh Davies 58:02 (Superlatives in the post please}
Curtis Stacey 58:43 {Excellent ride again gaining 4th overall in the Overflow event and taking the First Junior Prize)
Myself 59:54
Peter Jones 1:1:47 (Obviously not put off by his clip last week Excellent Ride)
Rod Hicks, Chris Allen and Wyndham Thomas did not start.

The event was won by Andrew Bason in 50:58 which is the first time I think that I've raced this course and noone broke the 50 minute barrier..

Tell ya what, anybody who was there today, deserves amedal. I went out for a 2 hour spin, and picked the wrong route, the wind seemed to be in my face the who time. brutal. It must have been hell. Good effort all.

Was a good morning out, and well done to all.

The best thing about being in the overflow event is that half the riders arent as strong as there would like. This makes it very fun for me,
I caught 2 guys before the turn, and then turned to come back caught another on the ten coarse, and to my amazement, on the stretch to glynneath, there were 6 riders just waiting to be picked off.
My head will not let me not catch anyone i can see. So into the headwind i caught another 5, the last guy put a real fight up, but with less than 500 metres to go i managed to get the gap from 20m to pass him and beat him to the line by 2 seconds.
There is nothing worse than suffering by yourself, but i had the complete opposite. And to my surprise, I actually really enjoyed myself in my first 25 of the season.

bring on the next one!
(And unless anything has changed, I got third in the overflow event.) :P
