Hi Paul: You are welcome to come on the training ride, however the B & B that I have booked is full and that means that you will need to organise your own accomodation. We are staying inside the town walls of Tenby on Saturday evening- if that helps.

Thanks Martin. I forgot we are going away to Torquay this weekend. Hope you all enjoy the ride. I love Tenby, lots of pubs lol.
Was Torquay closed Paul?

Dear Mr Edwards,As the appointed investigating officer in the "Bill going missing story" I have spoken to Mr Gannon at great lenghth and in his defence,He presented a very weak case,as much as to name two fellow cyclists local to the Tenby area as the reason you yourself found him wandering around Tenby"they told me they new where the digs were, but then they rode off and left me at a set of lights"he mumbled.I have given this matter a lot of thought and armed with the memory of Mr Gannon ,who after suffering the knock on the homeward leg of a Friday afternoon gentlemans ride, straddled his bike facing the saddle, given that he had a 50/50 chance of getting that wrong, how the hell could he be expected to find a bed and breakfast hotel in the middle of a town after suffering the knock.I hope this explanation is to your satisfaction.

First off, big thanks to Martin for organising a superb weekend and also to Pip and Brucie for the much appreciated 'logistic support'. As per usual, great company, great banter, well-timed cafe stops, nice comfy and homely digs and a really nice meal with beer and brandy flowing.

I'm well pleased with how I went and the jungle drums were only half-right. The only kicking I had was on the three-mile drag up to Red Roses. Prior to that I won two of the most prestigous primes (Ammanford and Llandeilo) and did more than my fair share of riding on the front (to be blunt a few boys hid from this task). As Skippy correctly says, "No pain, no gain"!!

Bill Gannon is a twiddler!

Find it?? I didn't know what the blinking place was called. Surprisingly, I don't think anyone else came into Tenby the same way as we did, since I was waiting for someone either to come back or come past, so I was eventually lucky to spot the van coming out of a side-street.

Apart from the inconvenience to Martin (sorry, Martin) and the landlady, who had to walk over to the garage again (sorry, Jan), it turns out all I think I achieved was to trade 20 minutes stood outside the Guest House in the rain for 20 minutes stood beside a set of roadworks. Worked out okay in the end. Tenby's not a big place.

Right. Time to upload some incriminating photos, when I get a mo.

Thanks again for organising the weekend Martin. I hope everyone got home before the rain got really serious.

Well done everybody good effort over the weekend. The intention was to provide an opportunity to kick start your out of season training and motivate you to do a bit more.
To this end for those of you who are interested I intend to run an improvers training weekend in the new year. Probably over the same course but a bit quicker- thus giving you all a chance to get stuck in and develop you fittness levels before we go. In Bills case this also includes his orientation skills.

It could also give some of the boys time to practice their bunch riding skills.

I think we had plenty of oppurtunity to practice our bunch riding skills Jack,as I racall at any given time there were at least three groups on the road both to and from Tenby!

No. That was practicing our time-trialling skills

But you've got to join in to improve Paul. I enjoyed it and felt quite strong on certain parts of the ride, especially considering my time away from the bike recently. Well you know what they say, "Form is temporary but class is forever" LOL

What next?
On the back of last weekends effort, most if not all of you should be thinking about how to continue improving your fitness levels.
The Saturday 9.30 ride is well managed by Jugsy, as Jack will bare testement and seems the ideal place to start. There tends to be an element of dread at the thought of getting round, however Jugsy has been brill and even Chips managed it and did the Ogmore for good measure. 8)
