Hi everyone need some advice again. Got a £1000 cycle to work voucher (yes I know I walk to work) and want to spend it on a new mountain bike. Anybody out there got any advice on what bike i could get for the money. Looking for a hard tail front suspension. Cheers .

Dai, I bought a Boardman hardtail from Halfords crap shop but equipment spec is top notch on the bike. Have a look on some of the MTB forum's as next years models are starting to appear.

Dai, the boardmans are hard to beat if you want aluminium frames, the specs just leave everything else for dead at the £1000 price point.
A few guys in work have them and they take a good pounding. If you fancy a steel frame, its got to be the ledgendery orange p7!!! You can customise the orange to your spec too via their website. It really depends on what type of riding your planning on doing too, alu hardtails can be quite harsh riding the singletrack at afan ect, where the steel frame will soak up more of the bumps. I have a 19" p7 if you want to borrow it, your more than welcome. Where have you got to get the bike from? _______________ Carpe Diem. |

Dai smith, why dont you buy a decent road bike. you might keep up with Dai Abbot then lolololololol!!! Otherwise I would say a good mountain bike make would be Marin or Klein. But theres so much choice and for a 1,000 you will get an excellent bike.
