First out of the trap was James Lewis mistakingly included in the Junior event and therefore the leading rider for quite some time
James retuned in 22 minutes and forty three seconds, early enough to shout advice to me as I made my way to start. "its hard all the way out and most of the way back.......Enjoy" Or words to that effect.Under National Championship rules, the main field was set slowest rider first so there were no seedings. I was first off at number 26 closely followed by Vernon Davies (30), John Stroud (37), Jayson James(66), Andrew Evans(76), Hugh Davies (86) and finally, Rod Hicks (95)
Times recorded
Les Thomas 23:58
Vernon Davies 25:16
John Stroud 24:47
Jayson and Andy DNS (Probably took one look out of the window and went er no thanks!)
Rod Hicks DNF Puncture on route to the start (Now I wonder what words were used to describe that!)
Our Very own supervet Hugh Davies held the club colours high once again though, recording a 22:43 to win his age category once again and to be the fastest member of Squadra Chrono once again....
The event was won by Alan Warburton of leisure lakes RT who took time off from bread making to record an impressive 20:29

so I might have to unicycle for a while
