Just to keep you all in the picture - total cost of rooms for 10 nights including breakfast comes to £6368.
Divided by number of riders = £454 per rider (drivers go free)
Those who have paid the full £500 leaves £46 per person for fuel. That's £644 in total for fuel. (not enough for 2 vans doing 4000 miles)
I was hoping that that the £150 kitty per person could help with fuel costs, insurance for the vans , maybe a tour jersey and polo shirts which we are in the process of ordering (so we can look like an organized outfit)water, bananas etc. Any surplus will obviously be returned to all of you, or we might like to use it for the odd cup of tea or any other type of beverage or even a meal together.
Don't forget we haven't had to pay for vans due to some kind persons who have sponsored us.
I hope this clarifies the reason for a substantial kitty.
It could be worse, should CJ pull out, as it will cost the rest of us a little bit more.
Finally, monies received so far £6700
I hope no one is thinking of pulling out at the eleventh hour otherwise it's going to push the cost up even more.
