PTW

I've had a call from a lady called Christine whose keen to join the Wheelers but just a bit anxious about distance, pace, getting dropped, not wanting to hold everyone up, etc. We've all been there, eh?

Anyway, Christine is cutting her teeth on her MTB but is keen to get a road bike and then join the Wheelers. So, do we have anyone willing to support and encourage a newcomer by accompanying Christine on a couple of gentle rides - ideally on an MTB.

If Christine gets a road bike I'll ride with her on a club ride. I'm down the club on most fridays if she wants to pop down and have a chat and a cuppa

I must be honest, Paul yours was the first name to spring to mind and I must also say, I think it's fantastic of you to offer your time to encourage new members into the club. I don't suppose, it'll matter what bike Christine is riding for the first couple of outings, just as long as she's able to get out. Once again, Paul, well done for offering!. Would it be O.K. if Alf forwards Christine your home number, if she can contact you directly, it'll take the guess work out of it.

Yes christine can have my tel number. The only club ride I do is saturday and then I leave before the boys and come back myself, as I'm not fit enough to take a kicking. I'm out to enjoy my ride. I dont train to race or anything. So if christine wants to meet me on staurday morning at 10.00am we could ramble to the cafe and christine would meet the boys and get a feel of things with the banter. I mean she maybe fitter than she thinks and hopefully be able to ride with the group.
