As a trial run for end to end we invited one of the 'prospective' drivers to join us for our ride to Llandovery. On arrival at plaza i met Kev giving Peter- from here now on known as the driver- some pre ride instructions -like how to get around the one way system in Eagle street. I gave the driver a route card -laminated free of charge courtesy of Dyffryn school.
As a way of trying to keep the ride together we drew lots for imaginary room mates for the nights stay at our imaginary hotel- although Striker thought we were staying overnight. This was an attempt to keep the ride together and encourage a little team work. Riders were paired up and were not allowed to cross the prime in Llandovery more than a mile ahead of their room mate(imaginary). As an added incentive yours truly stumped up £10 for a prize at the prime.
Anyway we set off from the plaza at 9:10 Kev dashed home to change his bike in the ferry, Andy Lewis having a little heartburn took the opportunity of some free gaviscon from Kevs medical cabinet. Picked up Jeff T, Dai Abbot Gareth and Bill G en -route. To cut a long story short we didn't see the driver until leaving the cafe at Llandovery. Oh forgot -Cj came first in the Llandovery prime and also took the £10 lottery win.
A hard climb back over the blacks and by now our driver seemed to have got the hang of things. Cafe stop at GCG cafe and a nice ride home. All in all a great day with good company and great weather at last.
I got home with 93 miles on the clock so decided to ride up to Cwmavon and back just to get the 100miles in the bank. Hope jugsy didnt give Dai a hammering on the way home!!!!

Must agree Dai! A great day in good company and equally good weather, shame Peter never got to join us in any of the cafes, never mind maybe next time. The only disappointment for myself and Andy Thomas, was crossing the G.C.G prime in 6th place and winning the lottery, but never got awarded any prize money  .
