Hope this wont offend all other riders in the club. A suggestion has been put to me that we have a ride for end to enders only. Cj's brother Lyndon is visiting over the bank holiday weekend with two other guys who have paid up to join us on the lejog.
Sunday of the Bank Holiday weekend 24th May - I know some may have booked hols for that weekend if so, sorry for the short notice.
Could ride up to Llandovery and return. Try to get a 90/100 miler in. Would be a great chance to get everyone together and see how we all are getting on with our training schedules.

trying to clear the day, but I might be called upon to row in Monmouth. Will keep you posted.

In the meantime, here is a sponsorship form I have produced. Feel free to use it, or design your own.

Thanks for the sponsor form Bill, or do we now call you Sir Steve.

Redgrave? Well, I must confess I do have an oar in both camps 8)

Seriously though, if anyone in the Wheelers would like to have a go at rowing then feel free to come on down to the City of Swansea Rowing Club, which is based in Swansea Marina (the place where all the yachts are moored). Please read the CSRC website first, and contact our Club Captain Sarah so that she can make sure there is someone on hand to provide suitable guidance. It might even be me.

Many have waxed lyrical about the synergistic crossover between cycling and rowing, as Rebecca Romero ably demonstrated. Okay, advert over.

Bill , had a look on the rowing website- impressed with your 2km ergo time 6:49 excellent. Done a 19:21 for 5km absolutely knackered afterwards. Have always wanted to have a go. Will have to have a chat next time we see each other.

Dai, did you see my 6.42 done back in the day. also done 17.52 for 5K.

Used to love the rower until I found the bike.

2000 m hurts, thats a real good time Bill.

I quite fancy giving that a go at some point in the not too distant future.

I didn't know my 2k time was on the website. I guess I should read it every once in a while...

Many thanks for the expressions of interest. And the good news for those starting later in life is that they have now invented a new category call 'Veteran Novice'. It's proving very popular.
