Easier, the cost of a Stamp and envelope!
When I took over as secretary it was because I wanted to do my bit for the club so, I really don't mind carrying licences to club activities and handing them to those like minded individuals who are also doing their bit, attending club nights, club runs, events....... I'll be there and I'll bring the licences. Its no effort really. |

Cool - hope everyone is all set. I've had a start sheet and can see there are a few places left, but experience tells me that those places go quickly on the day so make sure you turn up early! By my reckoning the PTWCC team is:
James 'The Tank' Lewis - riding the E123 event David 'Pretty Boy' Crolwey - 3/4 Charles 'Boyo' Reynolds - 3/4 Andy 'I haven't thought of a nickname yet' Evans - 3/4 Shoudl be a good day out! See you all at Ewenny tomorrow for a pre-race team talk! _______________ The Force is strong in this one... |

Your man in the crash damaged field reporting...
A warm spring morning greeted the 'Squadra Rosa' (or should that be squadra Rosé??!) Port Talbot team, riders as above. There was a feeling of excitment as we took to the start, with all of us looking resplendent, none more so than Charles and I in our pristine white shorts, despite Andy's protests. With a start, we were off down the neutralised section of the race, with the start being the traffic lights by the Ewenny sign. This was where things started to go wrong... The flag went down, we dropped down past the quarry entrance, back up the other side and BANG! CRASH CLATTER! Someone went down causing a mass pile up. Andy ended up down the gorge, I found myself perched on top of several riders, who will now have Sidi shaped bruises all over them, and Charles came to a complete stand still. By the time I had untangled myself the remnants of the bunch were gone, and it was to be a lone, windy chase along the coast road. I caught up with Charles, and we worked HARD to try and catch the tantilisingly close bunch. Several times we came so close you could smell their sweat, but it was not to be. Turning at Lantiwit, we knew the game was up. Despite Charles' valiant efforts through landow, a small group caught us, which disintegrated further as morale and legs gave out. I soon found myself in a group of 3, and we worked together to finish the race (apart from one of the guys who couldn't resist the lure of the HQ). Charles stopped to keep Pip company and I finished god knows how far down, after doing effectively an 85km TT. James did well hanging in for 2 laps with a QUALITY field, and Andy retired, with bits of sticks and leaves sticking out of his arse after his cross country expedition. All in all, a bit of a disaster. Nevermind lessons learned. Namely never underestimate the power of 4th cats to crash! Till next time sports fans... absolute carnage !!! whats the chances of the 3 ptwcc riders getting caught out in a crash !!! Well ive learnt a valuable lesson not to sit on the back of the bunch looking for an easy ride !!! At least i felt good for the 1 lap i raced, the thought of slugging it round for another 2 laps with no chance of a top 10 did not apeal to me what so ever !!

Doddle?! I'm sure I'll get round the 10 miles, but at what speed is a different story! Missed Flanders so didn't see the crash? _______________ The Force is strong in this one... |

After chasing for a lap with half of ewenny woods attached to my bike I decided to give up the ghost!
But all was not in vain as me and a few others who had travelled considerably further than me to experience 1.54 minutes of racing sat on the wall of Corntown cricket club and put the world of 3rd, 4th cat racing to rite...... 1. bring back the pre race check - anyone found with hairy legs will not be allowed to ride. 2. Kit inspection - SPD's and mountain bike shoes - rider gets banned from racing for the rest of the year. 3. black socks (I know Lance wears 'em ) rider gets banned 4. Anyone from Forza - not allowed to ride - too many team members at the front comparing tans, bikes, kit etal and not concentrating on the road ahead. All get banned for the rest of the year as they were the first to hit the deck! Feel free to add more... all the best from a slightly cut and bruised andy ev's reporting undercover from the ewenny gorge |

Don,t say that Andy , they are looking for more members!, seriousl though they should have neutralised the race as so many came down, mentioned it to the race organiser, but seems to be some confusion as to where it happened

Glad to hear you are ok Andy! To that list I would add: 1. People wearing trade team shorts. I believe one of the people who caused the crash was actually wearing Quick Step world Champ shorts. In the meantime I have been trying to get hold of you about the 2-day. Are you still ok to ride? I'll put your entry in if so and we can settle up later. Let me know ASAP! Thanks ![]() _______________ The Force is strong in this one... |
