Just put that destination in Multimap and could not believe the distance as a newbie without my bike all set up tidy/fitness level i can just about make it from baglan around beach front and back home ....lol
Then i have back/neck pain and don't feel comfortable on the bike as first road racer, guess it takes time though. Hope you enjoy/enjoying ride. |

Well myself and tony set off 8.00 a.m as planned, quite a cool morning, but the forecast was promising, picked Ian up at the bottom of Penywern hill and headed off up the neath valley. Just before Glyn neath we hooked up with a fella by the name of Gerald, who rode with us as far as Defynnog, then turned left and went out over the cray and home. We three plodded on, with what ever breeze we had coming over our left shoulder and aiding us down the remainder of the Story arms. When we got to the Brecon r/about we took the by-pass to Bwlch and then crossed the river via a very narrow stone bridge ( that for a long time, I've fancied cycling across) that brought us out in Llanngynidr. Coming out of Llangynidr we turned right and cycled through Taly bont, Pencelli and into brecon for a more than welcome cuppa and beans on toast. A decision had to be made in the cafe, Cray or Beacons, I didn't fancy Pontardawe hill so late in the ride, so I convinced the boys we'd have a tailwind up the story arms and by jingo we did (more luck than judgement, but don't tell 'em). Over the beacons wasn't to bad, bit of a head wind in parts, but wasn't to hard even with blolokcsed legs, then down the old bank, calling at the burger van for a can and sailed down the valley as far as the ROCK and FOUNTAIN mountain( I'm convinced the brasatds have extended that), anyway crawled up and over that and pootled down the road and home by 3.30. A total of 97 miles in 71/2 hours, minus a few stops, approximately 11/2 hours.
