Check out the welshcycling union website for some great pics, (looking very cool!) and perhaps the man himself can tell us how it went.

While I was running around like a headless chicken on Sunday morning and other PTWCCs were giving each other a battering up and down the 25/24 we were fielding a strong squad in the St David's Day Bryn Bach Parc crits in the form of Charles!

Well, what can i say !!, thought id got away with not having to write an essay !!!. Well it was my first road race back after 13 years, so i had to enter the 4th's, choppers and junior race !!. I was pretty nervous runing up to the event not helped by the fact people scare mongering me about the "CLIMB" on the bryn bach park circuit. Anyway the suposidly climb wernt tooooo bad but as i had been worrying bout it so bloody much (thanks james btw), it sorta got the better of me, not in a bad way tho. As usual i thought bollox to it and on the second lap the adrenaline got the better of me decided to see what every one had in them, 1 rider came with me but didnt have the bottle or balls to make an effort of it so within a lap 5 others had jumped across, meaning i were in a break of 7 all be it there were only 15 entered !!!. 4 laps in some mountain goat decided to attact on the "HILL", so let him go with 2 others and took it upon my self to string the others siting on my wheel to pull the break of 3 back !!. Next lap that mountain goat did the same again, but this time i were getting worried bout this hill and surving to the end, how embarasing would it have been to have packed a 4th and chopper race, so left a break of 4 get away. The other 2 riders i were left with agreed to keep it steady and work together till the end. But 2 laps to go we had nearly pulled the break back so i thought id put i 1 last effort as the other 2 with me wernt to bothered, well on the bell for the last lap i got within 6-8 secs but realised pullin them all the way back was not going to happen. LAST lap this was all about trying to recover for the sprint, well i recovered no probs but concentratin on the shadow of the rider behind me going towards the line waiting for him to jump, that i didnt realise how close we were to the finish line, as i noticed him attact i looked up and was only 10 meters from the line !!! well talk about being caught out !! any way beat 1 of the 3 for the sprint for 5th meaning i finished 6th, feeling very fresh some how, and only wishing i had tried to stay with the lead break mid way through the race and not worried bout that bloody "HILL", as they say learn from expericance and roll on sunday for THRUXTON !!! wooop wooop..
