Hi Again

I have just purchased my first road bike after years of riding a hybrid. Never new hoe tech they can be and looking for advice/help as i;m having problems even setting the gears, had to get a new chain but not sure if everything else is affected, the bike is a feltf55with dura ace.
Look forward to replys, and again hi, my name is leighton from Baglan, 35 yr old .

Hi Leighton. There's a rule that governs chains and cassettes "either keep them together or throw them away together", it's all down to the wear on both. Normally the wear on the cassette will mirror the wear on the chain, which causes chain slip if only one or tuther is changed, the chain slip will only reveal itself when you're 10 miles from home and going up a 1:4 climb and it'll all end in tears. :'(

Cheers titus, i know the cassette is titanium mix but must be worn, where would recommend to go for a replacement, it's virtually unrideable in it's current state.
The only shop i know is ex m+p's and i was not to impressed with their service.
Fitted new chain, but as a newbie any advice is much appreciated.

I'd have a look on Ebay. Or online stores like wiggle, Evans cycles. Maybe someone else on here knows of other places! Welcome to the site Leighton.

get onto the ledgend that is Jeff Bruce. He'll sort your bike out for you! there is also a good bike shop in llantwit major Forza Cycles. they will sort you out. not worth buying from evans or ebay and doing it yourself! Rhys

Cheers guys, would rather goto rec shop than buy online, rear sprocket must be worn, will pop down and see what they say and hopefully meet up for a ride once i learn the etiquette involved, thought golf was bad....lol

Brucie will no doubt sort you out!, but if you're going down the diy road go into Tredz (old M+P) and ask them to match their online price, or order from Nelson cycles, their up in Llangynidyr, very competative prices.
