Well the low down is something like this 2nd feb I'm gonna be at the clubhouse and see if the rollers work. (Hopefully Willy will have a spanner if they don't and I hear a rumour that your quite handy with your tool so If you could come along it would be appreciated) Any hiccups and we have a fortnight to fix em for the PTWCC Roller derby starting on Friday 16th January. Consensus of opinion is that pairings in the first instance will be by a draw on the night. My thoughts to date are that Heats will be 500 m and the winner progresses to next round. We'll time the rides so the losers can be allocated points. Dependant on Numbers, we could have a repechage system so that the losers can have another go instead but we can play that by ear We'll have a chat on the weekend as to iwhether we are going to charge an entry fee and what we do for prizes. For round two Friday 30th January we could use the times in round one for seeding or once again do a draw Now on the subject of my training I think you'll find I had you all worried for about 20 metres at least and I've got a 55 tooth chainring................... ![]() |

Les, speaking to james yesterday, he seems to think he has a set of the competition rollers in his house and also that the clock distance things dont work on them either anymore?, as anyone checked the rollers yet?

I have just had some finishing touches done to my bike by John Willy. So I will be out soon. As for the roller league, I'll stick to tea making and leave the rollers to you younger boys ![]() |

OK Guys,
We set the rollers up last night, And charles spent the night getting some practice in (Looking good Charles, Looking Good). The powerful Skippy also had a go (Looking even Better Skippy Looking Even Better)but during a massive power sprint (there was smoke........., pieces of metal............, We had to call the Emergency Services ..... Well, Willy had to investigate what was wrong at least ) Turns ouit the bearings on one set gave up the Ghost but Charles reckons hes got it covered. So unless you hear otherwise, The Roller league IS ON!! Date: FRIDAY 16th Of January at the Club House 7:30 Start. 1000m Heats Straight Knock out Competitors Drawn from A hat LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE |

Ok. I'm up for a laugh or down on the floor (see my avatar) once I topple off the rollers.
I will need a practise run first What do I need to bring? 1. Bike 2. Shoes 3. Helmet 4. Elbow Pads / Body armour Trouble is my son plays football on Friday evenings and finishes at 7:30, so put me down and I should be there by about 7:45. How long is it going to take for 1000m.......about 5 mins? ![]() _______________ "We can't all be heroes because somebody has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by" |
