Charles and I went along last night now that Maindy races have finished. Had a cracking solid 2 hours on the track, with 'races' and training sessions. Both enjoyed, and will be a great way to keep fit through the winter.
Would be even better if we could get a few more club members to come along, all ages and abilities welcome. (subject ot having a bit of track experience).
So who is coming along next week?

Yeah had an awesome sesion last night. Forgoet how much of a buzz the track was. It would be great if we could organize mabey 6-8 riders all the bikes then in a van (hint hint jefery bruce !!) and then one car save a fortune on fuel if we all chip in and get the club on the track then !!. Lets get the club back on the map and be the top club in wales !!

No rain last night
Do you boys hire bikes or you got your own track bikes.?
How much to hire?
How much for the session?
I have enjoyed the few time I have been to the track with PTW.
Could be interested if as you said a few more go up. _______________ "We can't all be heroes because somebody has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by"

WOOO HOOOOOO some intrest !!
The sesion only cost £4.50, which you gotta admit is tip top value considering uve got pretty much personal tuition also.
Me and dave both use are own bikes but you can hire a bike from the velodrome, which i cant see beeing much, can look in to that for you, and the bike are damn fine bikes too, no sheds, these are pretty much brand new well speced rides.
Dont be affraid of getting imbarased by the 14 year olds by the end of the 2 hours their riding rings round me !! It is a quick hard intense sesion but its organised in a way if you need to drop out for a lap to recover than its easy to drop back in !!

Nice one Tim! Will do wonders for your form - guaranteed!
Bike hire is £10.00, but you get a nice Pinarello or Dolan for your money. 2hrs of solid track time, and some great exercises thrown in. _______________ The Force is strong in this one...

Yep will certainly look to do this,
Had a quick look on the website

The "acredition" (training), is only needed if you intend to race, so NO you dont need it if you only intend to ride the drop in sesions. I hadnt riden on an indoor track for offer twelve years, and when i did it were only twice at manchester, and i found my first sesion last week OK, a bit nervous, but if you understand the fundamentals of what and what not to do on the track then its easy !!.
So come on every one get up to newport thursday evenings !!!, if theres enough of us ill even borrow the work van to transport the bikes only then needing one car for the riders, one rule tho and think dave will stand by me white lycra is a must !!!!, this is an un official rule drawn in to the "pretty boy cycling assosiation fasion society" main founder Mr David "pretty boy" Crowley esq.

Was informed last night as from the 4TH DECEMBER to attend the drop in sessions on a thursday you will now need to be ACREDITED !!!!, the next acreditation is 29TH NOVEMBER, which will probaly be full now, but give the VELEDROME a call and get your self book in, they mentioned that they will be running about 4 ACREDIATIONS through december.

Charles,i have received further info about the Thursday sessions, apparently they have always been for accredited riders only, the rule was relaxed during the summer months because of a low turnout, but as from the 4/12/2008 the rule will be re-introduced,if you ring Courtney Rowe on 07837201418 he will give you further info
