Answer Me hitting the side of a car and bouncing into the road.

As the weather on Monday was fair and being of the retired persuasion ( can go cycling at any old time ) decided to head for the Neath valley mid morning for a two hour ride. Proceeding through Britton Ferry where upon a car, incidentally driven by a young lady, decided to nip out of a side turning using the same bit of road that by rights I had intended to use "Ouch".
Apparently it was my fault as I had just donned the cloak of invisibility that I keep in my back pocket and use for these special occasions, you couldn't make it up!! The car and road seemed to have escaped with only minor damage so I think I am getting off on a technicality!! As the bike seemed to be OK I limped home to count my bruises, don't think I will be able to make the last of the summer wine ride on Wednesday lost my tea money in the pile up.

I know the feeling Jeff !!! 2 weeks ago i got hit off twice !!!!! once on baglan road and the other time after an 85mile ride only 50metres from my door step. The first incident the driver had the wrath of a reynolds through his drivers window, the second incident he got of lightly as after that ride and the hill to my house i could just about breath let alone argue with anyone! !!

Hi Jeff, sorry to hear about your ordeal and I hope you are'nt to badly knocked about. I sincerely hope you're taking the matter further (not for any financial gain), as "I didn't see you" trips so easily off the tongues of these numpty drivers. Maybe if enough of them are prosecuted for driving without due care and attention, then the message "THINK BIKE" will arrive home. Just because there was no damage to the car or bike and seemingly no damage to yourself, doesn't mean the driver didn't break the rules of the road. Airneeway, enough ranting from me, get well soon!.

Well, at least you're able to write about it Jeff as it could have been much worse. Anyway, I hope the road rash isn't too bad.
