Hi gang. Went out on my new mountain bike yesterday up Kilvey Hill (well they call it a hill more like a mountain) anyway started off a bit bumpy but before I knew it , it was like something out of Kick Start (for you younger readers this was a program in the early eighties hosted by the legendery Peter Pervis of BLUE PETER wich envolved guys on trials motorbikes doing mad things). Any way mad my way slowly but surely up to the top .Took me about 25mins which apparently is slow (acording to my new found friends THE MUD MONKIES) I thought I was flying. Little did I know the easy part was going up. Those of you that know me know I'm not that bad at decending but this was something else.
Started my decent fast (or so I thought) before I knew it there were 2 guys who passed me like I was standing still ! unbelievably quick , or stupid, or both.
Anyway , bumped, squeeled, rattled and rolled my way steadily but safely to the bottom and the safety of the carpark and my beloved smooth tarmac ( oh how I'd missed you).
But as I rolled onto my beloved tarmac I lost all control of my front wheel and hit the deck HARD! I couldn't believe it , I'd just risked life and limb to get down to the bottom in one piece only to fall off on bloody tarmac.
Anyway , sporting a huge bruise on my hip and on my elbow I'm ready to do it all over again, I'm hooked. Anyone want to buy a COLNAGO ! LOL

Never fancied proper mountain biking Andy. You were unlucky to fall at the last hurdle though. I'd stick to the normal tracks lol.
