Good meeting tonight. well done Dave Smith.

An interesting cross section of club members showing early interest augurs well for a good ride !!!

Who else is interested ?

Yes, I'm interested, but sorry I couldn't make the meeting.

Nothing set in tablets of stone yet. Some expressed reservations about riding through Cornwall on a Fri /Sat. personally I feel it will be busy whenever we go in the summer hols. The dates are definitely late July early August and the weather is going to be fantastic!.
I will be asking for deposits from those serious about going on the ride. We can then start planning and making some firm bookings.
Any comments get in touch.

So, what are the definite dates,David?. Most of the traffic is going to be going into Cornwall at that time of year, and we'll be going t'other way,

Just expand on that Dai. Are you saying drive down on the Thursday and start riding on the Friday or do what the Fat Jockeys did and drive down Friday and also do a few hours riding on the Friday afternoon/early evening??

I know it would be an extra nights accommodation but driving down thurs evening staying over night on thurs would give us chance to make the first two days of about 80 miles per day. A good start. If not a very early departure from PT on the friday.

For a bit of fun I thought I would ask Google Maps about the walking route from LE to JoG, and it came up with this:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&saddr=A30&daddr=john+o+groats&hl=en&geocode=FRvz-wIdrwKp_w%3B&mra=ls&dirflg=w&sll=56.304349,-2.768555&sspn=8.137917,19.775391&ie=UTF8&ll=53.252069,-5.756836&spn=17.584046,39.550781&z=5
To my amazement it suggests taking no less than five ferries, and going via France, Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man and Belfast!

Any others please add to the list. 10 would be a great number. Could hire a nice mini bus and take out the rear seats for the bikes toget them down to Land's End.

I would ask for a deposit off those wishing to go. At least that way you know who is really committing themselves.
