Bleary eyed I staggered into the bathroom for my daily ablutions and switched the radio on at exactly the same moment as radio 5 Live cut live to Beijing where Simon Richardson was on the start line for the kilo! What are the chances of that happening?!
Anyway the commentator announced that Simon was an outside bet for a medal and "would need to do a 1:20 to in the medals" and Simon promptly did a 1:14 to break the world record and, naturally, go to the top of the leader board with six riders to go.
The radio then switched to football and formula 1. _______________
