The 'hardriders' reverted back to the Sarn Hill / St. Mary's Hill route with CJ feeling a bit frisky and it was at St. Mary's hill that I got out the white flag and trundled up those three nasty climbs before turning at Pentre Meyrick. I think there was about 10 out on this ride.
The 20 or so 'softriders'
split into two groups with about half going around the Ogmore including Chippo who needs to go up a category for next week and get out on the earlier ride. There was the usual banter and insults at the cafe with incredulous disbelief that Dai Abbott is racing next week
but I'm sure he'll do a great ride.On the way back I was delighted to see the youngsters enjoying themselves and setting the pace! Marcia's daughter (apologies for not having her name) and Nathan looked ever so comfortable and James Lewis is looking good for a first full racing season next year. I fell apart at Cae Garw Farm but was helped back to Pert Tablet by Chippo, Colin and Little John. Perhaps someone could post with the result of the sprint?
Anyway, the clear message to all is that the racing season has nearly finished.... so let's get training!
