I'm sorry to ask but I'm looking for a bit of help here boys and girls.

Martyn & Spot are pushing off and then going to a roundabout for marshalling.

Striker and Anne are lending a hand at the HQ.

I'm looking for at least one bod to do a small mini-rbt and one bod to be a 'runner' bringing times back from the half-way point.

Hi Alf, I can do it, but I may not be able to stay until the bitter end. I know some competitors will take over 5 hours to finish, which is well into the afternoon. Our company is moving a number of its servers on Sunday, and I will be needed to bring the sites back up again. It only happens once in a blue moon, and the downtime has to happen on Sundays, so there's not much choice.

I will have to get the m/c warmed up. I could make a perfect runner.

OK Bill, that's brilliant and very much appreciated.

You'll need to be a marshall for two hours and a runner for two hours so if you could turn up at 7.00am I'll make sure you are stood down by 11.00 and tucking into your Yorkshire Pudding at 12.00.

Thanks again.

OK - a little update;

What with a volunteer from another club and also Will & Skippy pitching in then Bill can have a lie in and marshall the Llangadog rbt from 09.30hrs for a couple of hours.

Martyn & Spot are pushing off, having a cuppa and then marshalling the Llandeilo rbt from 09.40hrs onwards.

Will & Skippy are running times back to the HQ from the 51-mile point and the Finish.

Well done everyone! A superb effort by PTW today.

Spot - Julia has the Burco's (I'd rub some cream on them if it were me). Speak to Mandy about taking a couple of fruit cakes off our hands or I'll be eating it until Bonfire Night.

Well, considering the traffic on the road on account of the Royal Welsh Show it is a minor miracle that any riders got under 4 hours at all. I was stood at Llangadog rbt getting a suntan for two hours as requested, and the increase in traffic from 9:30 to 11:30 was immense. I've never seen so many Ifor Williams trailers in my life, but it was the lorries with horses in that wouldn't take the roundabout at over 10mph. Not kidding.

When number 25 went past (John Warnock, one of the early starters) with 6 miles to go, he was about 3rd in a line of cars 300 to 400 yards long, all queued behind some caravan, trailer or other. Problem is, he has to over take them, then they overtake him, and so forth.

Worst driving was from a guy with a moustache out of Llangadog in a smoking Montego, following close behind another car, the two of them entering the rbt at pretty much bang on the speed limit i.e. 40mph. The first car went through fine, the second one pulled out right in front of Richard Prebble, the top seed. Didn't even look.

So, all in all quite an eventful morning's work. I hope you didn't get too many complaints.
