I watched the tour highlights last night and was blown away by a UK victory

What was the gap on the lone breakaway leader with 2km to go? I really thought he was going to stay away - the peleton didn't seem to be catching him at all. Cav had to go early and do the job of his teammates from several hundred metres out, and there were guys in his wheeltracks of course. Normally that spells guaranteed defeat, but he passed the lone breakaway rider and got the win with 20m to spare.

I think the commentators pat themselves on the back and put it down as a perfectly timed effort from the world's best sprinter. I'd say it really exposes the weakness of Team Columbia. No wonder they haven't been able to get him up to the front before now.

Right. It's already a good tour - let's hope Cav gets over the mountains and cleans up in Week 3 :D

Except, yesterday Kirchen went straight into yellow and seemed quite happy he had such a strong team. I've never really understood this sport...

I just like to go riding, me.
