Sore!!! Got back from a+e at 2o'clock this morning with 4 stiches in my elbow and no skin on half my leg To make it worse my frame has a big dent in the top tube, so I can't use it any more, my front wheel has a hole in tthe carbon and the derailler snapper off. So overall not one of my best nights. By the way my jersey ripped and it was my only one so I need to get a small/xsmall short sleeve jersey asap if I'm to race in club colours! Anyone know if Jeff has any spares? _______________ http://logs.eyebike.com/training.php?uid=179 |

Ooooooohhhh me legs!
What a fantastic event! As a first timer last night i was a wee bit apprehensive in the lead up to the race (lots of toilet stops!), but once away i thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it (except for getting dropped late on the last lap). Found the changes in pace hard but just about manageable. Made a few rookie mistakes and found it a bit hairy on some of the turns with the rain hammering down but that just added to the experience. Big thanks to all involved. Sign me up for the next one! Hope the downed rider is ok, he seemed to be stable when i rode past. PS - i left my BCF paperwork behind last, anyone know where i might find it? (another rookie mistake i guess) |

Glad you're not seriously injured Jon.
In case you didn't realise, Three other Port Talbot riders - Bill Gannon, Alex Bland and George Hussey - came down with you . how about that for team camaraderie ... !!! |

Morning All,
Would just like to thank Pip and everyone else that helped out in the rain last night espesially all the motorbike and medic team. Pip if you would like a hand with organising that big RR that you where on about next year I would love to help, although I have to admit when it comes to organisation my name has often been connected with the words"couldn't", "piss up" and "brewery"! Jon I've got a kenisis racelight alloy frame that would probably fit you, your welcome to borrow it if your stuck mate? Hope everyone else that took a tumble is ok. |

Great event last night lads. well done Pip "pipollini" lewis and everybody at Ptw. good to get the on-line entries making it a larger field. our group had to work pretty hard to get all those ptw jerseys back. good ride james boy! had your group stayed away you would have had a great chance for the win. Excellent event. The commisaire that I was driving around commented on how well marshalled and organised the event was. ![]() _______________ Pain is only temporary - Quitting is for ever ........ Lance Amstrong |

well, i'm sporting a sling this morning and typing with my left hand. no breaks or dislocations in my shoulder, but got back from a&e at 2:30am. i have barely looked at the bike, but it is probably okay since the rider (me) cushioned its fall.
my apologies to jon harris since i believe i rode straight over him, although he seems no worse for it than his other injuries. i hear that the paramedics called an ambulance for arwel, but it never came, and by the time we were all back at the club house ready to peel off our kit and assess our injuries, they had all gone 'off duty'. sad to report that's my first and last road race. i'm just not into it. _______________ Electric bikes are great. I was third car behind and I didn't see the crash but I HEARD it! It was like a bomb going off.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Bill and Jon whose injuries looked 'naarsty' as Paul Sherwen might say. (Tip for Jon - carry more natural padding on you... I'm a trend setter in this area). I'm not sure if Alex was hurt but he played a blinder at the roadside with Arwel so well done the ginger buffoon. I understand that the ambulance was late but did attend. If you're watching Arwel, Get well soon mate. You gave us quite a fright there mate. _______________ "The most important thing in life is not to have the most, but to need the least.” Plato (my favourite Disney character). |
