That's the pleasantries out of the way ..... now for the tough stuff......
Having to pay one pound a ride levies to the CTT, those NON members who don't pay up their second claim subs ( there are two of you from the first two weeks ) will be refused another ride AND might even be named and shamed !!!!

On another happy note, may I say that the PT Wheelers organise the best Club Championship around, without doubt, bar none. That of course is why we get so many 2nd claim riders signing up, and we should be proud of that. I have also watched as support for this august competition has waned over the last 3 years, and for no good reason, and I've only been in this club for three years.

11 riders? And only 7 from our club? What's going on? At this point of the season in 2005 we had 22 riders taking part, 20 of them from our club. That's 3 times as many. And the other two were Colin May and Rod Hicks (that much doesn't change).

Tim, you're excused, but the rest of you? Where are the regulars? Thursday night was a nice night, a bit cold, bit of a head wind to the turn, but four riders went under 23 minutes. No-one is going to get any faster sitting on the couch waiting for the sun to shine.

Perhaps they're all off at Jeff's cottage in France? I dunno...

Oh, and I was just corrected by my wife for changing 'Glyndwr Evans' to 'Glyndŵr Evans'. I just want to be hyper-correct, but apparently the accent comes on the first syllable when it's a Christian name.

Who makes these rules?

BTW, as another way to illustrate the decline of our Club Championship, this is the number of different riders that took part in the last three seasons:

2005 - 97 different riders took part
2006 - 77
2007 - 37

Before you get too despondant about these figures, yes the stats are down BUT the overall membership was down AND last years events were plagued almost every other week with really bad weather.

(and we are missing a few sets of results...)

I suppose the really important statistic is how many different PTW riders took part, since apart from the aforementioned Colin May and Rod Hicks the rest often just drift in and out. Who on earth was '? Dizmary'?

Not sure how I will fare as all I've being doing last few weeks is going up
and down hills around Windermere and Coniston. (There is no flat )
