The City of Swansea Rowing Club are holding an event on Sunday Morning (4th of November) to help raise money for Children in Need.

The two Griffiths boys of have decided to raise money and have a bit of fun along the way, involving as many Welsh rowing clubs as they can.

From 9.30am onwards on Sunday we are endeavoring to get as many people out in the coxed quad with the boys as we can and have a picture of each crew out. Everyone that goes out with the boys will pay 5 pounds for the privilege and so we hope to raise a huge amount just in one morning.

Since this is a coxed quad (and not a novice coxed *four*, which I assure you can be a real white-knuckle ride) no rowing experience is necessary, but for insurance reasons you must be able to swim. It's a great opportunity to try a new sport, and to see Swansea from a perspective you've never seen it from before.

Parking here.

Please if you can come down and be part of the Swansea part of this epic fund raiser, Pudsey would be really grateful and it would be brilliant to have as many down as possible and possibly have a beer after in the Club. We will be there until lunchtime at least

Bill
Who are the Griffiths boys ??

They are just the sons of some of the members of the rowing club. I thought it better to call them 'the Griffiths Boys' so at least they wouldn't be completely anonymous, even though I doubt that anyone in the Wheelers would have heard of them. It's a small world, though.

I'm proud to say I have done much disservice to the good name and reputation of the Port Talbot Wheelers by appearing in the following photograph:

Nice hat Bill. Perhaps Auntie Wainwright Jeff Bruce could do a version for us... with sponsor's logos, natch.

Oh, meant to say that the photo could pass for the south of France!

Those are the two Griffiths boys in the stern, BTW, and rather than coming from Swansea (as I thought) they actually come from Monmouth. They got 20 people to row with them on Sunday, and their target over the next year is to reach 500! That's some effort. And all of the pictures will go on their website here.
