Rhys, whilst I'm not interested in the wheels (being a Campag man) a big well done.
And, who knows? These wheels might be famous one day, in a sort of "as ridden by Rhys Lloyd" type way - rather like the pair of track wheels I've got that (allegedly) have John Tudor's Campag Record hubs in them. _______________ "The most important thing in life is not to have the most, but to need the least.” Plato (my favourite Disney character).

I've been told the 10 speed blocks are thinner than the 9, but you can get a spacer to make up the difference. We used to use them when converting the old 7 speed to 8 on the mountain bike blocks.

All shimano 9 speed will take a 10 speed and Vicky Verky as they are the same overall diameter. I swap 9 and 10 around on the same hubs withhout any problem. _______________ "What have the romans done for us" not enough if you ask me not enough straight roads and far to many hills.

The diameter is no problem, it's the depth of the block thats the problem, the 10 speed is narrower and causes the lock nut to bottom out before it locks the sprockets down tight, it's only a gnats but it'll cause poor gear changes, you can get the spacers from cycle world, if Mr bruce is out of stock or even out of the country.

These wheels are only suitable for Shimano 10 speed cassettes, its not to due with the width of the body, but the splines are taller on 10 speed specific cassette bodies, so although 10 speed cassettes will fit on older 8 and 9 speed bodies, 8 and 9 speeds cassettes will not fit 10 speed specific bodies.

So could you then use 9 out of the ten sprockets combined with 9 speed spacers ?
