Never mind the Bwlch and Rhigos there is a 110 km Tour of Carmarthen race on Sunday 10th being run by Bynea Cycling Club (Tudor Thomas) and as at 7.30 pm tonight not 1 Port Talbot Wheeler has entered so i am going to ride the event so if anybody else would like to come along it would be nice to have another few riders at least then we might have a chance of doing something.
Headquarters are Drefach Cricket club you need to be there by 10 am as the race starts at 11 |

A bad start, I punctured by the old hospital in Neath (Penrhiwtyn?) but continued on but with only about 60-70psi in my rear tyre so I had a bit of an anxious ride waiting for another puncture. (I've had five punctures in the last four weeks. Conclusion? The all-black Vittoria Open Pave tyres are not a patch on the old green & black ones).
On both the Rhigos and the Bwlch I looked back (you really can see for miles!) but didn't see anyone so at the Bwlch turned for the Afan Valley and had an early lunch at Afan Argoed, which was packed with mountain-bikers, and got home a nice and early. Anyway, a glorious day and nice to be out in short sleeves working up a sweat. Did you boys change you mind? _______________ "The most important thing in life is not to have the most, but to need the least.” Plato (my favourite Disney character). |

(Holy thread resurrection Batman).
Not directly related to the Bwlch and Rhigos but I had the misfortune to be climbing up The Storey Arms from the Brecon side today. Not a very steep climb I'll admit but it was really hot and the headwind was a bar steward. It's such a long drag up from Libanus to the climb proper as well that I was done in and my fanciful plans of finishing my ride by going over the Rhigos and Bwlch were gently put to bed.... Mind you, I nearly died on The Rock & Fountain. Happy days. _______________ "The most important thing in life is not to have the most, but to need the least.” Plato (my favourite Disney character). |

Dai Abbott wrote, never mind the bwlch and rhigos , wasn't that an album by The Sex Pistols ?, or have the past thirty drug fuelled days of the tour clouded my memory ?.

I'll never forget the look on the old girls face when she read the title on the album cover, I don't think her flabba had ever been so gasted, and when I played The Crass' "banned from the roxy" well!.
