Reporting on the weekend activities:

Firstly: What a ride by Jon H this weekend. On the first stage he took off on the last lap and effectively forced the wining break. After driving them to the finish he still maaged to fight them off for 5th place!

Then on the last stage he took off and was out on his own over some tough roads for ages. And we were not hanging about in the bunch either. This boy is super strong, and desevedly scooped up alot of points and prizes at the end. 8)

Andy Evans also had a great ride on the Sat, staying away in a howling headwind for a whole lap depsite not feeling 100%. He battled through Sunday to finish in the bunch, and despite getting caught out a few times over some of the hills fought hard to get back in touch each time.

James despite not being a climber finished the race which is no mean feat! Should have some good form now for the Preidents!

As for me, blew quite imppressively on the last lap of the first stage  and had to roll in with the laughing group, but recovered by the Sunday and managed to finish near enough in the bunch. Lesson learnt: Next year do some training!

Got to say though: was a great PTWCC performance, always up near the front and trying to get in moves in the face of stiff competition. Think we can be proud of ourselves. :D

yeah it was a great race. 5th in 1st stage, 8th team in TT, 3rd in final stage and 11th overall. Also took prime on top of Blackmill climb and overall 2nd place in points comp.

2nd stage was the best tho. attacked 1st time over Blackmill after my previous attempts of getting away failed. Got a big gap by top and rode with a super strong guy who also was too dangerous on the downhill for my liking and he dropped me. Stayed away for 20 kms till I got back to the top of Blackmill for 2nd time. Stayed in bunch which was rapid till St Marys and attacked again. Bridged over to guy I was in the break with earlier along with 2 other riders and worked up a nice gap at the top. About 6 others joined us. At the end it came down to a sprint with 200m to go and I took 3rd which was tidy.

Great race and thanks to all those who cheered us on! :)
And well done to Davey C, Andy Evans and James Lew who did fantastically

Nice write-up Davey and well done to you all. It's great to see a 'squad' riding in club colours and to see Jon H so high up in the final result is fantastic!

See you at the President's!
