Right, well it must be about time to start thinking about getting the entry in for the PTW R10/22 on 5th of May.
Who's the secretary, then? If it's on the main site, must have missed it.
Handbook? What's a handbook? _______________ Electric bikes are great. They give ordinary people the chance to know what it feels like to be me.

I have to say, having now filled out two of those wretched TT entry forms, that they make Regatta entry forms look like a piece of cake, and that's saying something. Perhaps I'm not used to them, but as someone who works in the world of Usability, I can state that if you have to get used to something, then it ain't Usable.
I might have a go at producing a webform that asks some simple questions, such as 'are you riding a tandem?', 'are you a veteran', 'are you entering a team time-trial' etc. and then produces a PDF that only has the relevant information on it. All the rest can be helpfully greyed out, if it has to be printed at all.
How do event secs cope with all that information crammed onto one piece of paper, most of it irrelevant?
And why, after stating that I was happy to receive my start list by email, did the organiser of the Acme 25 then go and post everything to me that I already had???
As some people may have worked out by now, I don't like paper copies of anything. Hello, this is the 21st century calling...
Ah well, time to get off my soapbox, I guess... _______________ Electric bikes are great. They give ordinary people the chance to know what it feels like to be me.

As an event organiser I hope that paper entries (and start/result sheets) continue forever. I'm receiving entries for the '10' now and it's a doddle to organise them and produce the starting order but getting some, or all, by e-mail would make things so much harder.
Just because something can be done 'electronically' doesn't mean it has to be done that way! _______________ "The most important thing in life is not to have the most, but to need the least.” Plato (my favourite Disney character).

'Tis true.
But that's just the start! I'm trying to source 'proper' 531 frames, Weinmann brakes, Chater Lea chainsets and steel rims on ebay but a quicker way might just be to offer Will fifty quid. _______________ "The most important thing in life is not to have the most, but to need the least.” Plato (my favourite Disney character). « Last edit by Alfie on Fri Apr 20, 2007 10:25 am. »
