anyone do me a favour this thursday. chippo has put me down to time the club event and unfortunately I can't. I did tell chippo but like all good italians they don't listen and are too busy skiing and running. So can someone out there fill in for me. gracias senoritas!

I could swap with you for the 19th of April, if that's possible? That's 3 days before my Open 25, and I'd really rather ride it than time it.

BTW where are all the numbers? Anyone have some instructions on how to do it? I haven't timed one before, so although I might have witnessed it, and perhaps even got the gist of it, I don't know the task in detail. I'm a quick learner, though.

Well, as you can see, no-one replied to my offer, even though they had two days to do so. Therefore you can understand that I was a bit miffed to turn up at Resolven last night and find people had been expecting *me* to do the timing! If people to see fit to read things into what I have posted that aren't there, that's their loss.

As it happened I had a pen and paper with me, and was prepared to time the event using my watch if needs be, but I had no numbers, no sign on sheets, and none of the instructions I had asked for. So why exactly would anyone assume in advance I was timing the event?

Many thanks to the ever-capable Vernon for stepping forward. The first time-trial of the season is always a learning experience, and although I spent the last 4 miles coping with a left crank that very nearly fell off, it's not enough to explain a 26:54. Eek! Must have been the cold...

That's not a bad ride actually Bill and, yes, big thanks to Vernon for helping out.

Hi Bill, well like your self I too have been thrown in at the deep end, so hope I can get hold of chips to help me out, if not some other helpful soul. I don't know where the numbers are or how the timing works!!

I believe Chips is skiing at the moment, so best of luck. All this running, skiing, etc he does. Anything but cycling, eh?

Don't panic Chris. I'm back from my downhill racing in Austria and as I told you before, will be at Resolven to nurse you through your timekeeping.

Lets clear up any confusion guys..

While I expect to be at most club events and am willing to help out when I can, It is NOT MY responsibility but that of the timekeepers to pass on numbers and timing sheets to the next person on the list AND for the following timekeepers to get hold of said stuffs.
