Sunny intervals with a gentle breeze (10mph) - Race Time Temp 17°C

There is rain forecast for Thursday but race time in Resolven looks pretty good. It's not often we continue to use a 19.00hrs start time right at the end of August but with sunset at 20.05hrs we should be OK especially with those super-duper lights you've all got. Just to confirm that this is the last Thursday night on the dual.

Anyway, here are the essentials;

1. We meet up at the Neath Canal Car Park in Resolven for signing on from about 18.15hrs and closing at 18.45hrs for a prompt 19.00hrs race start.

2. You have to be a member of the PTW or a second-claim member of the PTW. There is no 'single race' fee - you have to join the club as a first-claim or second-claim member and for 2023 this is now £35.00 (£25.00 + £10.00 supplement).

RC10/22R Course Description

START on the Vale of Neath Supplier Estate service road opposite Lamp Post No. 18. Proceed eastwards along the service road to the Resolven Roundabout (0.458 miles). (Safety Notice:- Do not cross the centre line of the road on the right hand bend). Take the 1st exit left along A465 dual carriageway westbound to the 1st exit left (4.862 miles). Continue up the loop to the small Tonna Roundabout where take the 1st exit to the large Aberdulais Interchange. Take the 4th exit (5.505 miles) to proceed down the slip road to re-join A465 dual carriageway. Proceed eastbound to the Resolven Roundabout where take 1st exit left to FINISH at the access road to the Canal Car Park on the cross-valley link road (10.006 miles).

I think we've all learned a lesson tonight. Never trust a Graham Rogerson weather forecast. 8)

Anyway, the rain made the dual a no-go which was just as well as the cone monster made another appearance - I'm sure those guys start ahead of schedule. I think the win by Dylan was never in doubt but the two Neils gave it a good go with Neil G just gaining the upper hand and reversing last weeks result on a different parcour.

Thanks to Will and Dai for their usual good work and also to Dan and Hollie for covering at Resolven and also to Julian Brock for covering the turn. Alfie's MOTM goes to JD and Joan for season long support. Yes, I know that they are there to support Emma but it's a vital job done well and next season sees the marshalling and signage of club events become even more important as the CTT battle against ferocious increases in insurance costs.

Well done everyone and have a good night's kip! :D
