aka 'a bit of both' :D and I know how you like a bit of both...

Sunny intervals and a light breeze - 20°C

There's still 48 hours to go but it does look dry for our second and final '15' and I'm glad you enjoyed it last week. Normal rules apply, sign on between 18.15hrs and 18.45hrs for a prompt 19.00hrs start at the bus stop very close to the 'T' junction by the car park... boy, those net curtains will be twitching!

Course Description R15/2C - Start at west end of drain in front of bench on the B4242 (old Vale of Neath road) and 13 yards west of link road to A465 rbt at Resolven. Proceed westwards on B4242 through Abergarwed and Ynysarwed past the 'Rock and Fountain' climb to Aberdulais to the junction with the A4109 where left with care. Continue on the A4109 through Aberdulais to the Aberdulais Interchange where left onto the slip-road down to the A465 eastbound. Continue eastwards on A465 to Resolven rbt to take 2nd exit along A465 to Blaengwrach rbt. Bear left along cross valley link road to junction with B4242 (the old Vale of Neath road). Turn left onto the B4242 and proceed westwards to finish at the "30" mph speed limit sign at the east end of Resolven.

Well done everyone - some mixed results in there!

If anything it was a bit warmer than the forecast but also a wee bit windier. Shirley got the event underway and whilst she's been short of race miles this season she'll be better prepared for next week's 4-up TTT. But our first rider back was Clinton Evans - off at No.6 but comfortably finishing 3rd on the night with a 33:46, a cracking start to the night. Rob Lucas wasn't that far away from a '39' finishing with a 40:08 whilst Emma Davies took a huge 46 seconds off her time from last week to finish with 41:34. Catching Emma for a minute was John Shehan who showed consistency by being just three seconds off last week's time but Brad Davies smashed 42 seconds off last week's time to finish with a 38:09 helped by a useful sprint finish.

It's always nice to welcome a new club member and Steve Holloway from Maesteg made an impressive debut to finish 4th with 34:54 - nice one Steve and you'll be starting later next time! Mike Broadbent returned to racing with a very competitive '38' dead with Stephan Wilcox almost chasing him down. Stephan had a bad ride last week with lights falling off and tri bars slipping so don't read too much into his 2 minute improvement but this week he had some idiot in a van throw a bottle at him. Apparently, this was followed by a tirade of abuse against red bikes... shocking. Not as consolation but on merit, Stephan takes the midfield win.

We had a split in the camp amongst our 'fast four' with two electing to ride on road bikes although I understand Neil Gregory had no choice as his lo-pro is poorly. Anyway, Neil G did a 36:46 to finish 5th just ahead of Graham Rogerson who finished 4th. Neil Seaward went forward from last week but he did lose his chain last Thursday and finished with a 33:22 to finish 2nd on the night. Mike Hall took the win with a 33:06 - 10 seconds down on last week but perfectly understandable as he probably has some West Wales 100 left in his legs. Well done Mike.

Alfie's MOTM goes to Clinton Evans for a top 3 finish and finishing in the same minute as the winner, if that makes sense! Thanks to Les, Tony and John Deeley for marshaling (essential nowadays) and to Dai Triggs for dispatching you. As always, you were snapped by John Willy.
