Cool and windy tonight and tough conditions on the way out to the turn but a real romp back and we had a few pleasant surprises.
Michael Timothy got us underway but tonight wasn't a night to shake off about a month's worth of ring rust. Gavin gave his sinister new stealth bike a workout but both were caught by Hollie who is still chasing that SB from late April. Next week Hollie, next week.
We welcomed two new visitors from the Bynea tonight and Amanda Lane jumped straight to the top of the Ladies League with a 24:24 whilst former Wheeler Darrel Williams did a 21:51 to finish 3rd on the night. Our mid-table boys had good rides with Tony dipping under 24 minutes with a 23:58 with Jeff Rees just two seconds behind and Patrick a mere two seconds further back from Jeff. Tidy darts!
But if you thought that was close take a look at the one second separating Stuart and Les who were 4th and 5th. I've mentioned Darrel in 3rd and our 2nd fastest rider was Rod Hicks who did a good ride in the conditions and could get a '20' if we have a good night next week. Well, he almost didn't make it due to heavy traffic and didn't seem too bothered riding tonight but Luke Dix pulled out a class ride with a 20:33 despite not having overshoes.
Anyway, I hope Luke will forgive me for going back to 6th place and Tony Howell who really pulled out a superb ride to win Alfie's 'man of the match' by snatching 6th from 9th on the grid and a PB for himself. It'll be such a shame when the PTW committee DQ him for anti-social behaviour...
As always, thanks to 'Dead Plum' and 'Dai Sprinkle' for their help on the night.
