A lovely evening but, as usual, just a bit too windy for our fast boys to nail down a PB or SB but further down the 'classement' there were some cracking rides, PB's and smiling faces.
Swirly Shirley got the event underway but failed to get the SB she deserves so will get a LB next Tuesday (Lighthouse Breakfast) and go again. But there then followed a flurry of PB's with Gavin, Michael and Nigel seperated by just 16 seconds across the three of them. They are now officially non-noobs. Also part of the PB flurry was Stephan who has consistently made progress all season.
Tony seems to be coming into form with a SB of 24.12 and Rob Lucas was unlucky to do a 'long' 24.12 which was rounded up to 24.13 to officially separate their times. Also winning a mid-table battle by one second was Bill Gannon over John Deeley. Stuart Evans did an excellent ride to record a very short '23' whilst Ross Morgan is holding his good form to finish 4th from 7th on the grid.
Our pre-race podium contenders finished in the 'correct' order with Rod Hicks ramping it up and recording his first '20' for a while. As good a ride as that was, I know that Rod will approve of Alfie's 'man of the match' award going to his pal Stuart Evans.
Thanks to Dead-On Dai (ace timekeeper) and Whistling Will (like Bill Oddie but without hair) for their help and support.
Don't forget, back road next week.
